Another perfect carryout experience. I didn't have to wait long at all for my order. Everything was piping hot and fresh. We are never disappointed with our carryout experience at GIO. It is regularly in the rotation and one of our favorites for a reason.

A nice decor/vibe inside, and given it was frigid outside, they kept the place warm (thank you). Pretty dining area. And a nice bar area, with great appetizers. GF options were outstanding too. Server EJ was attentive & smart--good wine list, and pasta (scampi) was decent but very heavy on the cream sauce--yet still good. I'll definitely go back. Bar: great meetup and drinks/apps spot--yes, get reservations. Whiskey shrimp were outstanding. Dining: very nice but talk with your server on what works best for you (cream vs light...you get what I'm saying here). Scallops were highly recommended.

Hey GIO! Backstory: I have been going to this restaurant for YEARS! Like- had-dinner-before-my-first-homecoming-dance YEARS! I always knew this place as Vito's, but even with a new name, the food is still just as excellent! My mama and I stopped by GIO on our way to the Fox to see MJ the musical! We wanted something quick but substantial and the GIO happy hour did just the trick! I ordered a Cham Spritz (that is pronounced "SHAM" not "SHAHM"- thank you to our server who clarified this for us LOL!); a decent cocktail! Not too sweet and refreshing for summer. For food, we shared a cheese pizza and bruschetta! Basic Italian staples, but they never fail! With my mama's beef/pork allergy, sometimes the "plain" option is the safest and GIO does a GREAT job at making even the most common foods delicious with every bite! Now, since I have been here MANY times, I do have some recs: - Spidini Di Pollo (THIS IS AT THE TOP FOR A REASON!) - Toasted Ravioli (A St. Louis CLASSIC) - ANY OF THE CALZONES! We came here for lunch for the first time. I got the pick 2 lunch item & chose the quinoa butternut squash salad & chicken parmesan sandwich. The quinoa butternut squash salad was seriously one of the best salads I've ever had! Such a great variety of super healthy vegetables, grains, & toppings. Loved the dressing as well. The chicken parmesan sandwich was really good as well. Made on their housemade bread, topped with their amazing sweet marinara sauce, & the chicken was very moist. My only slight critique on the sandwich was my chicken was a bit thin & the bread is pretty thick, so I mostly had a bread sandwich. Would've preferred a thicker piece of chicken or thinner piece of bread. Also ordered the red velvet cake for dessert. I would not get this again. The ratio of cake to icing was off balance. Way too much icing for the amount of cake. The icing seemed to be missing sugar & it didn't have the tangy zip that cream cheese icing normally has. The cake was moist but lacking flavor. It was $10 & was very small in size.
